Desires dictate our priorities, priorities shape our choices, and choices determine our actions. The desires we act on determine our changing, our achieving and our becoming.

Overprotective Big Brother Syndrome- its contagious!

I havent blogged in FORVER... but i thought it would be fun to keep track of stories my husband and I will ONE day look back at an laugh.

It all started a week ago.... my facebook status read "It happened today... First time I saw my husband get genuinely get upset, his 'little' 18 year old sister got a boyfriend. Heaven help our future daughters... Lol ;)"
Little did i know... that overprotective big brother syndrome is contagious and i caught it! But not at first.... first it seems i was the only one excited for his little sister. It turns out the York family is filled with overprotective siblings, and when Elliots dad told him to take care of Courtney... he took that to heart. When id chat with courtney (the 18 year old who just got a boyfriend) id say things like 'he sounds great!' but my husband would comeback with "whos side are you on?!" and "Stop being so positive!" hahaha but last night I finally joined his dark side of overprotectiveness.

Elliot's baby sister (courtney) pulled a prank on us---
We had just settled down for Ice Cream and Netflick in our PJ's at 10pm when Elliot's phone goes off to a text from one of Elliots sisters (Amberly) saying 'Shoot him' referring to courtney's boyfriend
I got a million guesses out like 'he kissed her' 'he said i love you' 'he broke up with her' before she text back saying check facebook.....
Status update... ENGAGED!
Needless to say we both freaked and tried calling her a million times. when no reply we decided to check her apt. Nothing. So went on a manhunt all over town for them.
30 knocked doors, 3 date places, one irate husband and 2 trembling roommates later, we found them... and found out it was all a joke.
After we calmed down about it all i looked back and laugh at a few minor details...
- we kept randomly blurting out 'its wednesday!! Who gets engaged on a wednesday?!!'
(out of all the crazy things wrong with this picture we picked that one to yell outlloud! haha It would have been more reasonable to yell- "she just turned 18!" or "they have been dating a week!" or "this is her first boyfriend!" "She doesnt even know him!" NOPE--- we're going crazy over the fact that its wednesday... lol)
- My husband threatened him saying 'I'll set my wife loose on you'
- we should freakin be detectives! Not only did we track down his apt using deductive reasoning but we got his phone number and last three places to be seen. Not to mention were pretty good at bursting into rooms.

Moral of the story.... dont mess with a protective big brother & I wouldn't want to burst down doors with anyone other than my fantastic husband. He is my favorite partner in crime. We are never short of laughter, adventure and kisses. I love my life.
